Hey guys, bought my first s2000 on saturday. An oil change has been done using castrol edge 5w30 fully synthetic. Is this engine oil ok to use? Also I need advice on what gearbox oil is best as that needs doing also and how much I will need? Gearbox is a little bit whiney and sometimes tiny bit crunchy from cold. Thank you

 

Either Honda mtf or redline mtl. So far those are the only two that work good in my opinion for the gear box. I think redline mtl does a little better job with cold shifting. You will need slightly over 1.5 quarts,but if you tilt the car you can fit two quarts in the gear box. My suggestion also would be to run some other oil for a little bit to help flush out any left over debris. What I usually do is drain and refill with regular 10w30 oil then drive it around the block a couple times. Then drain again and refill with the good gear box oil.

I have no experience with castrol egde to give an opinion.

 

Amsoil fluids are the best way to go.
