Hey i have a 06 ap2. When i start it up the engine has a little kick. i notice marks on my hood and valve cover so i am assuming the engine jumps a little when i start it. would this be cause by a bad motor mount? the car is an 06 with about 38,000 miles. Please let me know thanks

 

the engine is actually hitting the hood when you turn it over??? You should probably stop driving it around until you source the problem on this one.. the engine will move of course when you start it, but it shouldn't not whap the hood.. I couldn't begin to guess the reason without more info though. Could be really f'ed aftermarket valve cover you bought that is too tall, is the hood warped? lots of things.

 

i just bought the car recently and i think its stock. i noticed some of the s2ks that i test drove it did have a little kick not too bad but mines a little harder and it shows cause of the valve cover and the hood touches. its not denting anything just rubbing off the paint off the valve cover and the material off the hood.

 

WTF take it back to the dealer for an inspection!!! ASAP

i dont think i have any warranty.. i just called honda and they want $100 just to find out the problem

 

I had some WOT shifting problems that were caused by a broken motor mount but the engine never hit the hood. Have the car checked.

I'm still having trouble visualizing ow much it is atucall shaking.. I mean the engine moves when you start it, but it's like a oh so slight quick wobble.. is it like that/\? or can you feel it shaking the car while it's turnng over.. I would ask for a video, but I don't thinkturning the car on is really a great idea at this point. are you sure the fire mat didn't come loose and is hanging down and hitting the engine? if you get time some pictures would be helpful.
