Can you first verify that the engine actually hits the hood when you start it, and that the wear isn't from before? (which would still be weird, but at least probably not ongoing)

I could think of many MacGyver tricks that should work in finding out. Cardboard? Gum? Slice of bread? Put some sort of goopy stuff on the valve cover, start the car, then check if it's now on the hood? That kinda thing?

i put clay on the hood to see if it was hitting and it wasn't.. what i feel is a slight quick wobble. i thought the valve cover was hitting the hood cause of the slight wobble and the wear on both of them. i am just new to this cause other cars i had never shook like my s2k. i don't know if this is common but mine seemed a little harder than other s2ks i tested.

So...I'm inclined to say you're suffering from new-s2000-owner sickness, where you panic about everything possible, imagining a new vibration or noise with every drive.

Where are you? If you'd like, post in your local forum and have an experienced owner take a look. May cost you a six pack of beer, though.

haha, in all fairness though, I discovered my car was 2 quarts low the week after I bought it.. I got excited about getting it... test drove it, loved it, bought it, and never checked the oil.. Kept thinking to myself at every stoplight.. what the hell is that rattling sound that only goes away when i rev high enough to block it out?? sooo yeah, maybe his engine is actually superglued in place. I think having a local guy take a look at it real quick would be a good idea though.
