engine knocking sound...help needed

Default engine knocking sound...help needed
What could cause this knocking sound???It can be heard only in cold starts...any help would be welcome!!!

It doesn't sound like rod knock. I'm thinking wrist pins or piston slap.

Maybe one of the idlers (on the accessory belt) is getting noisy?

Remove the accessory belt and spin the idle and tensioner pulley by hand, I'm currently replacing my bearings because I can hear a similar sound on mine during cold start.
If it's not the pulleys then it's probably just piston slap.

That is a “normal” sound some seem to make.

i am almost sure that the knocking sound comes from inside the head...

Could it be the valves???the most important is that it does it only when its cold...when it gets at normal operating temperature the motor sounds like new!!!

I don’t know if it is the video or my eyes or my video player but it looked as if some of the bolts on the valve cover were vibrating. Take a quick check to see if all of them are torqued to the proper value. If it (they) are loose, that could be the cause of the cold sound.
