you can put a bung in it to bring the sensor out in to fresh air? But I am guessing that if you're not modified then the sensor is broken??

One other option would be to fix the problem, and not have to worry about how to circumvent it. A generic one goes for <$50:

They are called spark plug anti foulers.

You can get two for assurance....then reset the code with a code scanner or disconnect your battery.

Search the thread regarding AP2 o2 sensor failure... I think there's info in a Hondata Flashpro-related thread, actually. There is a TSB about this issue, as well. The main o2 sensor has a tendency to fail due to heat-cycle-related stress. There is an updated part from Honda that you are supposed to replace it with, but you need updated engine software to go with it, which means you'll need to have the dealer to flash your ECU (or buy a Flashpro, which already has the updated software).

The old o2 sensor and new software are not compatible.

The part isn't cheap, but it's a bolt-on replacement. The hardest part is reaching the wiring harness on the other side of the transmission, but you can do it yourself with no prior experience.

Good luck.
