Engine Light - Misfire codes P0301, P0302, P0304
Hi everyone,
this ones a weird one.
I have Year 2000 s2000, 64k and is due a big service. I keep getting the engine light with NO RANDOM MISFIRE just misfire codes for P0301, P0302, P0304.
I've had it checked at honda and they say it's fine but cant explain the codes. Only thing they noticed was the the spark plug coils were coated in some lubricant stuff when they were changed 4k miles ago. They cleaned them up and sent me away, but the light came on after 40 miles.
The big thing to note here is that I've never felt a misfire or had any issues suggesting a misfire has occured (other than the light!). Idle and all round performance is normal.
I've tried resetting the light. Sometimes it comes back on in 10 miles sometimes it will come back on in 90 miles. The biggest time i've had before light comes back on, was after doing the infamous 'MAP Whack' technique posted on these forums, it lasted for 90 miles.
I havent owned the car long. And maybe the light has been on for months. Who knows.
It's had spark plug resistors changed about 4k miles ago, which is when the light came on apparently. Does this mean the spark plugs are new? So no need to change them?
I'm in two minds whether to get it sorted (which could spiral out of control financially) or just sell the thing and cut my loses!
I've heard getting the fuel injectors replaced could help (

I've read that fuel injector cleaner can have an adverse effect causing the car to run very roughly.
The cars perfect at the moment, apart from the CEL and codes.
Is there any chance this could be bent valves? If so i'm getting rid straight away and moving to another car. No warranty you see.
Do you still recommend the fuel cleaner? I could potentially sell it this week and dont want it to run rough when people are test driving it.
thanks ChefJ - look forward to your response
