Default engine noise

Ummm..not exactly sure if its part of the break-in process (only 2,300k on the engine) but i have a random noise coming from my engine. :/

Now im still working on getting some answers from down here but thought someone might be able to shed some light on the problem.

First off..by "random" i mean that the noise is off and on. It started last friday night..was still there sat morning but then disappeared until against today (wednesday). The noise is also frequent on loudness. When its happening it will increase with the RPM but it will also just increase or decrease on its own when idling.

I went to the performance acura dealership today and had them check out the noise. They took off the belt and it was still there..leading me to believe its internal. They then put the stethascope (or however its spelt) and narrowed the noise down to the lower front area of the engine. The mechanic said it might be something to do with the timing chain? but was unsure without fully diagnosing it.

Funny thing.. the noise was getting loud at the dealer but by the time i got home it had disappeared almost completely. Now the car was at running temp by the time i got to the dealer so that cudnt have had anything to do with it either.

Im a little unsure as to what exactly it is but i will continue to keep an eye on it and see if the honda dealership has anything to say (if the noise continues).

P.S-i have checked the engine oil..its at the correct level

my motor has been loud ever since i got it at 17k miles, sounds like just the chain making noise, i replaced the tct and the motor sounds the same, i got 90k miles on my ap2 and it runs hard as always and oil is changed on time, but some motors are louder than others, this is my second s2k and both motors have been loud.

Can you describe the noise or better take a vid so we can hear it? It's a little hard to diagnose "an intermitant noise from the front of the motor".

The s2000 Is going to make some noise. The vavle train Is not as tight to allow for more rapid rpm speed which In turn will make more noise. I would most diff keep an eye on It though.

Well the noise went away again lol

Im beginning to think its just the engine breakin itself in. Im not noticing any power reduction or fuel mileage loss.

The noise is really hard to describe :/ was just wondering if anyone had come across any kind of noise from that area of the engine. It almost sounds like its coming from the idler pulley but like i said the belt was removed..and the noise was still there.

I was really just throwing it out there i think ill just bring it to Honda if the noise persists.
