Default Engine noise. different than tct IMO (vid inside)

Car info: 2002 (ap1) 44k miles. Just simple bolt on mods. Hasn't been starved on oil or over-revved since I took ownership 2 years ago. Noise has been there for a few months before stored for winter (chicago). I sandblasted the worm gear from the tct over the winter, didnt seem to have any affect at all on the noise.

Noise is most apparent at idle. Gets more rapid the higher the revs. But also seems to make less noise if not any at higher rpm. But i do have Invidia q300 soooo... its hard to tell ;p also its always there; hot, cold, initial start up.

Let me know what you guys/gals think. All suggestions and help appreciated.

Also no CEL.. and runs beautifully. And to explain on how loud it is. I can hear it with top down at idle in a garage and a little bit while sitting at a quiet intersection if i am listening for it.

Does not sound like TCT at all.

Temporarily run it without the belt on (no longer than 30 seconds) see if the noise disappears.

i agree with the guys. my tensioner pulley went bad and made that exact noise, but only as the motor would drop back to idle after a throttle blip.

Sounds the same to me mate, my MY99 has a very similar noise, I also changed the tensioner pulley and have blasted the worm drive from my TCT, not yet ran it with the TCT mod done so will hopefully report back, but am watching this thread with interest, good luck.

Cheers.....Tony..
