Default Need an engine

I'm looking for a local Tulsa resource to buy a rebuilt or used engine for a 04 Jeep Liberty. The engine I have now is cracked and may end up costing me more to have it fixed than to just buy a new one.

Any info would be great.

I believe the engine is cracked/seized. The prior owner forgot this little thing called oil.

After some Q&A from my mechanic this is what has happened to the engine.

The prior owner did zero maintenance to the Jeep and the last known OD reading was between 50k and 100k. When the Jeep came into possession about a year ago at my mechanic it was dropped off by a wrecker service. Engine would not turn over for some reason. After inspection it was found that the oil was sludge at the bottom of the oil pan. The oil pan was flushed, cleaned, etc and a new oil pump installed.

Engine rolled over and would run, but a slight tick could be heard. After another inspection there was more oil sludge in the heads. One of the heads may have cracked as well (can't remember this part of the story). So for the last 10+ months it has sat with the heads off.

The car has been offered to me at a cheap price and is worth a little bit of work. So at this point do I try and rebuilt what it has now? or go for the whole new engine?
