You have spun a rod bearing. Sorry but it happens to the S with low oil. I've been there myself. Get it towed to a shop you trust and go from there.

Potentially very bad. When was the last time you checked the engine (before today)?

Any mis-shifts / over-revs in the past?

As a rule of thumb, don't drive at ALL on a HORRIBLE sounding engine. Tow it to the dealer.

Head plus labor: ~$3000
Engine plus labor: ~$7000

There are used heads and engines floating around the site. But labor will still run a pretty penny.

If you didn't fubar things too badly, maybe ~$1-2k for rebuilding the head?
