Amazing cant wait till everything is done. My setup is going to take like 3 months cause they got to do custom pistons, rods, and sleeves. I hate the waiting process

Thanks for the pics. I was very intersested in seeing the O-Ring job done on the Head. Then I looked on the block, cool open-deck design but still no O-Rings. And but looking at the pics it "looks" like lots of cooper gasket sealer.

When I spoke to Dwight he said to o-ring the head and to use hylomar.

Are the pics decieving or are there no o-rings? If you would have o-ringed either the block or the head do you think you would have had an issue with the gasket?

I'm asking because I have a sour taste in my mouth about the whole head gasket deal now. That seems to be a sure fire way to solve any detonation issues that some perspective buyers might encounter. By seeing what your car did on the dyno with the gasket it seems worth it.

About how many passes on the dyno did you get with the gasket installed and the new timing control device? The shop I'm interested in charges by the hour for tuning. Trying to get a guess on what these cats are going to try to charge.

It had about 20 dyno runs and it seemed that it started losing power after a while.. I am guessing that it started to leak and it ate away at the seal until it got to the water..

We ordered from hylomar but we used a different product which had a higher heat tolerance..

The head gasket is not the way to go in my opinion and it sucks that it's included with another wise bolt on kit.. You lose about 20 hp or so with the gasket on, so why not just retard timing to get the same result? Problem is that you get in to tuning issues and when you go that way then it isn't a bolt on kit ethier..

I spent about 4K worth of labor (gasket on and off twice) with my shop for Speedcraft to learn that you had to O-ring it to get it to work, I guess I got ****ed.. when I spoke with Dwight he said that I shouldn't have to O-ring it. Also, I want to see someone try and O-ring it because the gap that you have to mill the head is tiny and it would be very difficult. The amount of labor and time that it takes to change the head gasket and O-ring the head is about the same time that it would take to install the entire kit, if not more.. So much labor in fact that you might as well just change the pistons instead. (Book time says 5 more hours to change the pistons than to change the head) Also O-ringing the head isn't the type of operation that you'd get at a local speed shop..

I can't say it enough, it's my opinion that this is not a good solution for a consumer product.

First of all Speed Craft should have known that. any fool knows not to put a copper head gasket by its self. You should get some money back dude.
