Engine rebuild success stories
So many reports about failed F20C & F22C rebuilds, but maybe there are more success stories that just don't get talked about. Lets hear about them!
Tell us what damage your motor had, and what was done to it to rebuild. Most importantly, define success. Tell us how many miles your rebuilt motor has, and what sort of miles. Street, track, etc.
Tell us what components were reused, which were replaced. Tell us who did the work.

Great thread! I look forward to learning from builds.
My engine #1: oil filter came loose. I will disassemble the short block in the coming weeks. Assuming block and crankshaft are good, I will most likely build this for boost.
Engine #2: new short block from Honda with cylinder head from engine #1. Cam tower polished (normal wear marks) and cylinder head surface skimmed prior to reinstall.
Engine #3: 2.5L build from inlinepro. Hoping to have this in a car in the next few months.
Engine #4: 2.5L build that I am doing myself and will share a lot more details as I get started on this.

Engine #1 - Crack in the block leaking oil, welded, block skimmed, liners honed, internals all rebuilt as standard, new thrust washers, etc, etc. Ran beautifully. Blew out the thrust washers eventually but it was because of a misadjusted clutch not releasing fully.
Engine #2 - Stripped and rebuilt with new gaskets, and new thrust washers as they were damaged (had low oil pressure oil pump was scored so I assume it was damage/debris from the thrust bearings ) but I don't use the OE pump anyway and everything else looked fine after inspection so it went back together as it was and in, done an entire race season on that one.
About to make some custom thicker crank washers for Engine #1 and regrind the crank and we'll see how that one goes but I can't imagine any issues.
