Default engine removal with the head off?

Is it possible to just lower the motor and trans and then remove the trans under the car and yank the block out? The entire head is off. I will be disconnecting all of the other wiring and hoses as the block is being shipped to laskey. Thanks in advance.

Do you want to remove the trans 1st, then pull the block, or pull the trans and block assembled from the bottom?

I think he wants to pull the block out the top after disconnecting it from the trans.

If that's the case, I haven't done it but I think you could. I've had the head off a bunch of times and thinking about it, it looks like you could get it out.

I don't think I will have room to pull it out from the bottom. I may. I just want to lower the whole thing as opposed to lowering it 3 inches to get to the top trans bolts. Then I willdisconnect the trans and remove the block from the top, or bottom if I can slide it out that way.

I can't see why your method wouldn't work.

The trans has to come off the block eventually. The only way I won't recommend trying is leaving the trans attached to the engine and trying to pull it out from the top. There is not enough clearance to get the crank pulley over the crossbeam in the engine compartment.

So I can just lower the entire block down and remove the subframe and all with no issues correct?

If you want to lower the engine on the subframe you need to have a way to get the car over the height of the trans/engine while still attached to the subframe. You'll also have to disconnect the lower ball joints and front swap bar brackets, and steering rack pinion coupler to remove the subframe from the car.
