Default Engine removal thread

Before anyone asks I did do a search and was unsucessful. I was wondering does anyone know where the thread is that had engine removal and install step by step with pictures. I also looked in DIY also. I was actually searching for something els and I came accross this thread where a guy listed steps and took pics of removing and intalling his new motor. It was a white s2000 he was working on. I just want to look at the pics because I'm gona be pulling my motor this weekend. I have a shop manuel but real pics would be useful also. If anyone knows the thread i'm talkin about or one similar to it please post link. Thks
Travis

if you are doing a engine job I would just buy the manual.
it will save you time in the end.
possibly money too.

First thing is to follow the trans removal procedure. I think there's a good write up on that, and it's 80% of the work.

bill is right.
the trans is the hardest part.
also make sure all the grounds are disconnected.
other than that.
its easy
one more thing
I just did mine and took it out from the bottom.
so if you can I think that may be easyer than the top if you have a trany jack or something like that
also if the flywheel is off the motor will not balance even so make sure you support it.

Billman, I noticed in one of your threads a while ago you were using some eye bolt looking things you screwed into the spark plug holes to use as attachment points for the engine hoist. Could you post some pictures of them and tell us where you got them?

I made them from old plugs, long bolts, and large washers.

Meh.
I thought this was a "How to" thread with step by step engine removal instructions, rather than a "How do I?" thread.

Would you trust two of them to lift the whole engine out?

Two are without a doubt strong enough to pull the engine. As long as you grab full length on the spark plug threads.
