Default engine squealing niose on start up

Folks, another post about a mystery engine noise.

I have this concern with my car's engine, and it only happens on a cold engine start. And by "cold" I mean a cold engine but also on a cold day, think like 50 F (10C). I get this very short but loud squealing sound right on the start up. After that no further issues or strange sounds.

check the youtube link here: https://youtu.be/w9UBfVhtDJI

Any guesses on what this might be?

AP1, 2000, 83,000 miles/135,000 km.

Thanks!

Typical of an older belt that may be glazed. A new belt should fix the issue, assuming the belt tensioner isn't also going bad.

Cannot make out anything in the vid, but the chances of an S2000 belt squealing on start are very slim.

First thought is the common, and benign, cold starter squeal that is common to all S2000's (it just varies how cold things have to be to get the noise).

Its that ime of year again when these posts of startup squeal will start popping up again and again.

Sticky starter noise. Plan to live with it, grease the starter with mixed results, or replace the starter.

Thanks everyone! Was worried it might be related to timing chain so this is reassuring!

Billman!!!! Still waiting on your guru recommendations on what to do with the sticky starter? Regrease? Replace? Any Billman DIY techniques? Surely in your neck of the woods (brr) you encounter quite a few of them??
