Default Engine Stalling. Input appreciated.

hey people,

my car is for the most part stock except for single exhaust and comptech cai.

the problem i'm encountering is when i'm at a stop light in neutral, my rpms drop below 500 --> 100 and the engine stalls (i don't have my foot on the clutch). the only way i prevent this from happening is if i keep my foot on the gas and keep the revs above 1000.

it also occurs if i'm turning and have the clutched depressed all the way.

i took it to a honda dealership and they don't have any answers since the obdII isn't putting any codes.

i've tried the following without any success:
had the dealership adjust the clutch tension
reset the ecu

what irks me is that it happens randomly. some days the cars runs fine. others i have to keep pressing the engine start button after it stalls out.

what do you all think is the problem?

thanks,
ric

Sounds like an imbalance in your short term fuel trim (STFT) vs, long term fuel trim (LTFT). You failed to mention how long ago you installed the mods? My recollection is it takes 32 hot/cold cycles for OBD-II to balance. With more air and better exhaust flow your STFT is surely F**** up. Right now your short term and long term fuel trim in OBD-II are imbalanced. My suggestion is just deal with the 32 (?) warm up cycles to allow your fuel system to balance out. Once LTFT is reflecting current fuel and exhaust flows....all will be as it should be.......not to worry: )

Just buy a new map sensor.

Try tapping the MAP sensor with a screw driver handle. Also make sure you have a 7.5A fuse in slot #25 (3rd slot from the top on the right).

i had my mods installed about 6 months ago and the problem started about 2 months ago, so i think i've passed the 32 cycle range.

also, the problem occurs more frequently during humid/rainy weather.

i'll try tapping on the map sensor thing.

let me know if you all think of anything else.
