Additional information:

On the way home from work today the engine cut out completely. No gas readout, no temp readout, speedo read 0, and the immobilizer light was blinking. After a couple seconds it stopped blinking and nothing else came back on. This is all with the clutch engaged btw (petal NOT depressed). I was moving about 50 mph when all this happened. I had to turn the keys off and back on for it to start again.

Small update:

I did get around to installing a 12v lamp on the A15 pin of the ECU that goes to the main relay. I need to make a correction to all my previous posts that reference pin A12, replace A12 with A15. I'll edit them soon.

Anyway, I was driving to work this evening and the car stalled out briefly and restarted. It was off for less than a second however my lamp did come on. This indicates that the A15 pin from the ECM was high, and it's supposed to be low during normal operating conditions grounding the main relay.

I ordered a immobilizer receiver from majestic and when I install it I'll report back with any changes. However I still feel like the ECM is what the main cause is but the immobilizer receiver was much cheaper. I have learned a ton regarding the operation of the immobilizer and ECM when relating to fuel issues and the main relay. If you have any questions please PM me and I will do the best I can to help you.

Go used with the ECM. There are plenty of folks out there with ecm's sitting in their garage.

Well I'm going to go ahead and buy an AEM as I am doing ITBs next year anyway. No sense in using the money on a OEM ECU when in going to replace it early next year. But that idea did cross my mind.

Also more information:

Today while driving around the car completely cut out as I've had it happen before. Speedo reads zero and immobilizer light blinking for a few seconds then goes out. During this time the clutch is engaged and the engine would not restart even after the light went off. Also, my light wired to A15 pin of the ECU DID NOT come on. This means that the fuel pump had power this whole time and the car wouldn't restart until I turned the key off and turned it back on. This leads me to the immobilizer receiver directly. However I already ordered that and several other parts so I'll report back with what fixes each problem.

Quick update:

I installed the immobilizer receiver and... the problem was NOT solved. However, a friend of mine is dropping a used ECM off for me tomorrow with the key so I don't need to go to honda and have them update the immobilizer. So after I get that installed, I will see what happens. I am also going to drop the car off at a local shop to see what he says just to get a second opinion. I may do that before I even mess with the ECM, depending on time constraints.

Sounds like your going about it in the right way...process of elimination.
You'd be 3000$ in the hole if you'd taken it to the dealer.

What's next after the ECM?

Oh, I would trust the dealer with an 800 dollar beater lol. Let alone my kid practically hahaha. I'm really hoping that the ECM fixes it. I'll be putting it in later today and I can promise you by the end of today if not tomorrow at latest I can tell you if the problem is fixed. It happens that frequently. I know when I installed the immobilizer receiver it wasn't but 10 minutes of driving later that it stalled out on me again.

To answer your question though, I don't know where to go next if it isn't the ECM. Maybe I'll double check the grounds or try another main relay. Though I had the valve cover off this passed weekend installing AP2 intake valve retainers and I put a wrench on the g101 ground, she was tight. I'll be up shits creek without a paddle if the ECM doesn't work.

Honestly, if I do a few pulls in the car, maybe a few 2nd and 3rd gear pulls, within a few minutes of me doing them the stall will happen. However, I have had it happen many times with absolute normal driving.

At this point all suggestions or thoughts are welcome!!
