Default Engine Temps

Hi everyone!
I have a 02' with 88k on the engine and 102k on the chassis and everything else. It's been about three months since I installed a AEM EMS version 2 series and upgraded to a 70mm throttle body with a 69mm port-matched intake manifold. I also have a Berk header-back single exhaust installed. So the car is currently tuned. My concern is am I running higher temperatures in the engine with these modifications compared to stock levels? If so, what cooling system modifications would decrease engine temps? I know an effective cooling system will prolong the car's longevity and reliability. I would really appreciate some recommendations on where to start and which parts you recommend.

BTW, old thermostat has been replaced with OEM part when I installed the intake manifold.

Also I plan to add headers and some cams in the next year or so.

Idk if it would run hotter.. but you could do things like an aluminum radiator, Mugen or Spoon waterpump (opens sooner), and a coolant additive?

I have been doing a lot of coolant system searching as of late. It appears to me that most aftermarket cooling upgrades over cool our cars when talking N/A. A good operating stock system should be quite easily sufficient. I was about to pull the trigger on buying an aftermarket rad, thermostat and fan switch till I searched. I did buy a PLX DM200 and my temp is almost always 183-184 even on the track. My fans don't even kick on unless I am sitting in traffic for awhile (203-204 degrees)

How much higher are we talking? What temp are your fans set to come on?

would over-cooling damage anything? I'm thinking of changing the oem radiator soon to an aftermarket aluminum radiator..as well as the rad cap. I'm just wondering if decreasing engine temps may provide better power and reliability even if you operate at stock level temperatures.

I can't actually tell you. Unfortunately, I did not tune my car myself. The fans do turn on quite often though while driving around the city. What I do notice is that the fans will stay on after I turn off the car until my AEM air/fuel ratio goes from ~14 to 18 and zeroes out.

Thanks for the recommendations. Do you have any of those items?

You might want to post this in the NA section of the site for some better informed answers.

Check your AEM EMS 2 to see if your tuner updated the temp calibration. Temp values from AEM runs higher.
