Default ENGINE TICK OR SOMETHING!? help guys new to s2k's

ive searched and read, just want to describe my issue and see whats up. i have a 2003 ap1 and i just got it 2 days ago, i do not drive harshly, alot, lol. but the car has a loud ass ticking noise on idle and it goes away and comes back and goes away and comes back like every other stop light, i dunno what it can be and its driving me nuts! im at 88k miles outside of warranty so i hope its nothing major and easy to fix, i see ticking is normal but mine is pretty loud and does at times when its at its worse sound like a tiny diesel.

sounds just like this actually&feature=related

take it to a shop to get it checked out. I wouldn't really drive it around that much if my car was like that.

TCT (Timing chain tensioner) and valve adjustment. Job done. Not expensive, either job.

either job isnt really hard to DIY. the noise is the chain slapping, TCT could be the cause of the ticking.

adjust your valves first, if it doesnt fix the noise then its your chain slapping which could be because of the TCT or the prob that i have..which would suck. i still drive mine around though.
