Default EPS Light came on briefly

Hi all,

While driving to work today on the Motorway, my speedo suddenly stopped working and just showed "0" MPH and then the "eps" light came on. After slowing right down and sitting behind a lorry for a while the "eps" light went out and the speedo started working again. I have not had chance to look for any codes as yet, but will do as soon as I get 5 minutes....

Also, another quick one..... Sometimes when I am in, say 4th gear, and I accelerate up to about 8,500 RPM the ABS light comes on but then after a while it goes out again. This only occurs with hard acceleration in 4th gear or above....

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Speedometer issues=check ground on back of cylinder head.

Thanks.

Attached the ODB2 reader and no error codes at all.

I will keep an eye on it.

Much appreciated.

DO check the ground on the back side of the cylinder head like Billman said. My first thought was the same. It is apparently a common cause for speedo/gauge cluster issues as the connection can be loose and/or corroded. It is not the easiest to see. There is a picture of it's location around here somewhere.... but like he said, back side of the head between the head and the fire wall.
