Default EPS light comes on for 5 seconds then turns off

As the title says when I'm driving on the highway my EPS light will come on for about 5 seconds then go off again. It only happens every once in a while seemingly at random. The car has no codes, I assume you need a special tool to check EPS codes?

The car recently had the transmission replaced with an AP2 trans but the light only more recently started coming on. I also just got an alignment over the weekend and still have the problem.

Any ideas?

I see you have 4.56 gears. What do you have to adjust your speedo? Check it's wiring. If the speed sensor signal is lost, your EPS light will go on. Sounds to me that you have an loose connection.

I have the yellow jacket installed by Jeff (hardtopguy), but that is a good thing to check. Would the speedo drop to zero if it looses the signal? because that seems to be fine.
