Default EPS light won't go off

My EPS light has been on since I changed my transmission ratio. It is constantly on.

I have a yellow box and calibrated the speedo correctly but the eps light still stay on and I don't have power steering. I checked the fuse box in the engine bay and it's ok. All the eps wires are intact. I disconnected the battery so many times and nothing changed. The car otherwise run perfectly.

I will follow the instruction manual and do a full diagnostic check soon.
I am hoping that someone might have some experience with this problem before and can share the problem/solution.

Is there any quick fix thing I should look for?

I beleive if you check the continuity between the middle pin on the Torque Sensor(the first sensor that the input shaft from the wheel goes through) and there is no continuity, the torque sensor is dead. If youve had your tranny in and out a few times, chances are it was broken from not properly removing the rack from the input shaft ( ). Mine was already broken from an accident, but I never properly disconnected mine and heard a few unhealthy "snaps" and "crunches" as I lowered the subframe.
This is whats wrong with my car, I just havent been able to justify spending nearly a car payment on the replacement piece. I kinda like no PS, but thats just me

Is your speedo reading going to zero while moving? If so you have a bad connection. This will cause the loss of power steering and the EPS light to come on. It also puts it in the limp home mode after a few minutes.

tinker, I am trying to picture what you are saying but it's not very clear to me Yes I have dropped the engine subframes a few times by now. When I/my mechanic did it we disconnected the input steering shaft. Last time the shop did it they did not disconnect the power steering input shaft at all so I think you might be on the right track. How do you check this thing tinker? Do you just remove the plastic caps? What parts do I need to replace and how much is it?

sideway, the speedo still work

Ill try and get some pictures up, Ive got about a million and a half things to do yet today...
Its the first sensor, with a 3 wire plug that the steering shaft passes through ON the steering rack. If the search worked, Id link you to some pics that I know have been posted before...

I saw that in the manual last night tinker.
I will check the continuity between the ? 1 and 3 pins 3P connector

Do you know how much the torque sensor cost?
Do you know what part of the torque sensor broke? Is it fabricatable with a Computer Assisted CNC machine?

I kind of like it without powersteering but I drive this car most days and it's a bit of work to park in tight space.....my pectoralis muscles are getting a good workout

Thanks again

My local Honda dealer quoted me $240; Ganley Honda quoted me a little under, but plan on at least $300 unless you have any "hookups" at your local dealer.
Ya, run all the tests. I know mine throws a Code 14, which checked clean in the manual, so I decided to test a few of the other codes and 13 had the chassis-to-middle pin test.

I assume you have driven the car at speed so this is probably a long shot but I thought it worth mentioning anyway. I know the EPSlight will come on if the speedo signal goes away (even momentarily) and will keep the power steering off until you drive over about 10mph - then it turns it back on.

I'd check the connections on the EPS. Two of the plugs look exactly the same and they can be plugged in incorrectly. It happened to me, I switched the plugs, and EPS came back on.

On a side note, I think the 04-05's have a different EPS module. I swiched to my friends 04 EPS and it felt much different. I think the part #'s have changed as well.
