Excessive Transmission(?) Noise
I know it's almost useless to ask this question without a video of the sound, so I'll try to get one up soon. I knew before buying one that these cars would be a little noisier in the cabin than my previous car (gen1 Scion tC). But I didn't know how much, and I'm wondering which noises are normal and which aren't. I seem to be getting a whole lot of noise from the drivetrain components. Much more than I'm used to. Mostly while in lower gears and low in the RPM range (parking lot driving and slow city driving). Is this normal? I've been told that these transmission often act a little quirky at lower RPMs, but that's because they were designed to handle what these cars can rev to. But I didn't know if that quirkiness should be accompanied by a bunch of noise or not. Any advice or input? I'll be taking it to a garage soon just to do standard maintenance since I recently purchased this, and I plan on asking them about it then too. Thanks.
