Default Exedy hyper single clutch and flywheel kit?

Anybody tried the Exedy hyper single clutch kit? Did a search with no results. I heard the kit is 8 lbs less than the stock flywheel pressure plate and disk. How is the engagement?

exedy clutches are basically a stock clutch. Ive had the most luck with ACT clutches.

I doubt the kit includes a flywheel. From what I've read here, there aren't any clear cut winners in the aftermarket S2000 clutch war.

I am 100% posivitve that it come with a flywheel. I was at their booth at SEMA, I touched the S2000 clutch with my own hands. It has pressure plate, 6 puck sprung disk, and flywheel as a matched set. It is a pull type clutch. It also does not look like a reworked fackory clutch either, the pressure plate is much flatter, and very unconventional looking.

Yeah, this hyper model is typical of the advanced units coming out of Japan. An integrated design rather than a rework of OEM parts. I looked at the ATS unit but was unwilling to spring for $1450 but sure would have tried this one at $875 if I was doing a clutch now.

I'm not sure what you mean by "pull type". I wouldn't expect that a hydraulic system like ours would be able to do anything but push.

If I had a clutch that pretty, I would want to be able to see it...

During the SEMA show the rep said it was just being released in Nov. 2002, so it is a new product. I like the fact that is is a matched set. The build quality of the unit is excellent. They claim it is 8 lbs. lighter than stock
