Default Exhaust Install

I will be ordering an Invidia exhaust for my 02 some time this week and was wondering how difficult is this to install, also how long does it typically take?

Keep in mind i've never done this before

just be sure to soak the 3 flange bolts/nuts (where it connects to the Cat) a little while before you remove. Also don't get crazy with the tq when tightening them. My understanding is 25lbs is spec...

an exhaust change in a couple of hours??? Maybe if you take an hour break and then grab lunch.

First time i did it, 40 minutes and that's cuz i didnt' know what i was looking for exaclty and took my time. After that, it got easier each time, fastest was 15 minutes inlcuding time to jack up rear of car. The only part that takes awhile is if you let the car cool down and if the hangers don't want to come off. Other then that its a snap really. Hell Spugen just installed my latest exhaust in about 10 minutes.

It's not hard at all. An hour tops if it's your first time and then 30-45 minutes after you've done it before. Spray some liquid wrench on the cat bolts and let them sit for a few minutes (make sure the exhaust and car are completely cooled). The hangers can be a pain. Spray some WD-40 on them and use a flat-heard screwdriver to pull the rubber up enough to pry them out. You'll understand when you see them.

As for lifting I was able to get the exhaust off by just backing the rear wheels up onto ramps (make sure you properly block and secure the car). It was a very tight fit but it can be done.

Good luck, it's not hard at all.

Very easy,
I use a bit of dish soap or car wash liquid to lube the hangers instead of WD-40. Products like WD-40 can damage rubber over time. If your car has been driven thru a winter you should probably apply the liquid wrench to the cat bolts the night before you do the job.

Okay so well lube liquid wrench to the cat bolts, unbolt the system, greese up the hangers and get the stock exhaust off and do opposite to get new one on ?

When you want to install it make sure your car has been sitting for a couple hours, exhausts sure get hot.
