I am thinking about purchasing an Invidia catback used from a local for 500, however I worry about the loudness. So I wondered if welding in another straight through Magnaflow would kill the power?

 

You may as well stay stock.

 

Put in the silencers and it is not too bad. (I have an Invidia btw).

 

I have heard the Invidia, probably the same one you are considering buying. Do yourself a favor and don't buy it. It's rather abnoxious. Looks nice, though.

 

The thing is, I hate the way the silencers look, so I dont want to run them. I have arranged to hear an Invidia unit this weekend, so Ill know then. But if its too loud, you all are suggestion that another muffler is a bad idea?

The Invidia has a bad droning sound when you back off the gas pedal around 3500rpm. From 6krpms and up, it sounds almost like stock. I agree if you put the silencer in, it robs the HP!! I dynamat the whole trunk and i use fill in form that fills the cracks and holes i can't get to. Now the droning sounds is not as bad and my 12" JL Sub hits harder than ever!!
