Default Exhaust question

I am looking for an exhaust that is lighter than stock, as quiet and performs the same or better. Any one have any suggestions. Thanks.

I hate when guys tell me this, but this topic is really, really exhausted. Hehehe

Mugen fits your needs to a T. Just gotta be willing to fork over $1,500 big ones.

I don't think there are any systems as quiet as the OEM exhaust, Are there? Isn't Mugen a little louder?

Mugen is a little louder. yes, but not by much, talking about 1-2 db increase. Amuse is another one to think about, 3db louder according to Amuse.

The mugen will save you about 20-25 lbs. (Stock is ~53 lbs). You'll need a single-exit Ti exhaust (i.e. LOUD and $$$$) to save 40 lbs or more.

You don't want the Tanabe. Even though it's 13.2-lbs lighter than stock, costs about $650 and shows a decent 4-6hp gain, it makes the rear of your car look like the battleship Missouri and is louder than a sawed off shotgun at VTEC (101db's at WOT INSIDE the car).
Come to think of it, maybe that's why I like it!
