Default Extreme Idle Drop

Hey guys, it's my first post on S2KI. I have an 01 AP1 that has around 70k miles on the engine. Lately it has been having extreme idle drop, like every time you put the clutch in it will drop to 500-600 RPMs if it doesn't stall. It is very annoying and embarrassing having your car stall 5-6 times a day. Having the A/C on makes a difference in amount of stalls, but even with it off it still stalls way too much. The idle seems pretty rough too. Again,it's not driver error stalling the car, revs drop too low and it stalls quietly. I clean the IAC almost every week, have a ziptie around the MAP and have cleared the throttle body. What else can I do? Thanks

Iac valve and map zip tie etc are what to go for straight away with these issues, but if you have covered these off it may be an o2 sensor.

I was thinking about swapping the IAC and MAP from my other AP1 (which doesn't idle drop) to see what what happens. Could be O2 sensor. Thanks for replying

When you say you've cleaned the iacv have you removed the pentacle bits (to remove the electric motor) and then made sure the valve component spins freely?

I remember reading about someone having a similar problem, but after adjusting the valves, the car was fine. Sometimes they are way of, and needs adjustment long before the service book says...

Do not clean the IAC with any cleaner.

Take it apart and free up the rotary shaft if you want real results.

You need a special tool to take apart the IAC. It's a 5 point torx (T20) -or- you can cut the screws with a dremel.
