Default EZ-On Soft top fitment issues

Ive seen quiet a few old threads regarding this same topic but most of the members who posted fixes are no longer on the forums.

My EZ-on top seems to come to a point where the front bow is exposiong the weather seals. It is also basically sitting on top of my roll hoops. It does not affect the function of it at all, just looks terrible.

I installed this top myself last year and its always looked like this, i just so happened to have put a hardtop on the car soon after and never removed it until recently.

Things ive done:
-Checked cable to make sure it is riveted and still has tension.
-Moved around the velcro strap to expose the rear most bar.

If anyone knows a fix or sees anything out of the norm, let me know

So,

1. Both side cables are good and tight when the top is closed?

2. the rear canvas velco strap piece goes above the rear most bar and then below the middle bar and doesnt wrap but just tucks into the holder on the middle bar?

I have a robbins top on my car but I am assuming they are similar/same.

Correct sir! both cables have a lot of tension and the rear bar is exactly as you stated. Could it be my cable is applying too much tension and thus raising the rear bar more than it should?

Okay just measured the bars:
From middle bar to front bar around 9 1/4 inch
From middle bar to rear bar around 6 1/4 inch

I have an EZ-ON top on my car, and this looks identical. With the exposed weatherstripping on the sides, and it also allows the glass to sag onto the roll hoops. I hate it, but have yet to find a fix that doesn't involve replacing it again.

are the cables routed through the "sleeve/pocket" on the sides or are they visible to you? My assumption is that they arent routed properly and thus are not pulling the top tight to the frame on the sides.

I can feel that the cables are in the sleeve/pocket. And they have enough tension that i can barley move the spring.

Any of you guys mind measuring the distance between your bows in case mine is different?!

Bumping this old thread in case anyone has experienced the same thing since my original post.

My soft top still looks like this and his shamefully tucked under my hardtop lol

The top my car came with does the same thing, sags on roll hoops. I assume its an EZ. It bangs hard on bumps, added some home depot foam weatherstripping to window frame to keep it from rubbing a deeper hole in roll hoop plastic.

The question is if this is endemic to EZ, or if there is some install trick needed to get EZ to fit right, that most installers or anyone following a diy for other tops, like Robbins, wouldn't know about.
