i just seized my motor a f20c 2002 with 27000 miles on it honda warranty dont want to pay for it so they said it would cost me about 8113.76 to put on everything so i asked the guy to show me what he is ordering so he showed me this

1. general cyclinder head
2. engine assembly block
3.gasket kit, cylinder head
4. 5 quarts motor oil 10w30
5. coolant type 2 blue
6. filter 2 oil
7. washer, drain 14mm
8. fluids mt

what does this mean are they only replacing the long block or the who engine or are they rebuilding it . please help me and give me suggestions.

The engine can not be bought complete from Honda.

New block, new head, they will use accessories and hoses from your motor.

new motor comes with block, crank, rods, pistons, oil pump, all assembled. They will have to somewhat disassemble your old motor for front pieces like chain guides.

Head is over 3 grand, motor is over 2 grand. That price is about right.

Usually on a seized engine, the cyl head is ok. Make sure you get all the old parts back, as they are worth big money.

I am guessing he is talking about factory warranty 3yrs or 36000 miles. He is out of 3 yrs.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if they gave you the cause (lack of lubrication) and then denied it due to an intake (speculation), they would have to prove that the intake caused the lack of lubrication in order to deny it.
