F20c swap
I was contacted by a guy that is looking at putting a F20c into a Triumph TR3. Here's some questions from him:
1) Can the immobilizer be defeated on the S2000 ECU? (I know this is possible on some of the Integra ECUs)
2) Any other sensors that if missing will cause running problems? (he plans on having only the engine & mission, so he's talking about stuff off of the engine)
If you know the answers, please post or email me. Also if you know shops that have done other F20C swaps (I've seen AE86, and a 325), let me know.
Thanks

i've seen a couple old corollas, AE86, with F20c swaps, they of course use the S2000 gauge cluster to complete the effect. They looked very well done. Maybe seek out these guys for some info.

I've put a F20C in a clubman. Still finishing the project but have run the car around the block. (see www.speedracersportscars.com.au for pics)
I used the factory body and engine loom, with all the redundant stuff removed from the body loom. You dont need the instrument panel to get the engine to work.
The immobiliser isnt a simple thing to bypass. I used the factory lock barrel which has the key reader attached to it and got the local honda dealer to program in a few keys.
Most of the engine emission related sensors can be connected up to avoid CELs. Just make sure you get things like the EVAP purge valve. I tricked the ECU into thinking the air pump was running by connecting the air pump relay control output directly to the wire that check if the pump has 12 V. The US cars are wired different and use a current shunt to check if the air pump is running so would need some more innovative tricks. I also believe the US models have more sensors on the EVAP purge system.
The main trick is to make sure you get all the sensors/valves/devices from the donor car. The workshop manual wiring diagrams are very good and make the conversion much easier.
If emissions arent a requirement for a conversion in an older car any number of after market computers can run the F20C.
Good luck.
