Default ENGINE REBUILD

hello guys i recently ran into a spun bearing situation with my 2000 ap1. This would be my first time rebuilding the car with some of my mechanic friends and i only want to open up this engine once and thats that. Since im rebuilding i was thinking of a stroker kit. http://www.briancrower.com/makes/hon..._stroker.shtml
Heard Brian crowers is pretty good but how about Inline pro? Also is the 9k rpm because of the ecu? if i were to install the stroker kit will i still be able to hit 9k rpm or would i need to get a new camshaft?

Redline (or engine cut out) is governed by the ECU but is really a limit of your internals and what they can take. A stroker by definition can handle less revs than the stock crank and rods.

...so if you just drop in the stroked motor, and don't do any engine management (ECU) changes, your 'redline' will still be the same (point at which ECU stops the party), but this may be more than your stroked motor can handle over and over.

The internals dictate the safe redline, but something else has to enforce that redline. The ECU has been calibrated to the stock internals, it won't know it needs to be lower now with your stroker.

Most high compression and or long stroke engines do not live as long as a good OEM build. Cost on a stroked engine will usually be higher as well. The fun factor of a well built stroked engine is higher as well. Ultimately it is up to you.

No. I would not rev a stroked F20c to 9K ever. You'll be right back in the same situation. If you are planning to do forced induction later on, I would build the motor although stock is great too. InlinePro is a great reputable company. For $ 1,850.00 you can get InlinePro Machined Rods, Pistons with rings, 3mm Headgasket (if desired), and Dual-Valve Springs and Titanium Retainers. Only thing you would need is bearings. Skunk2 Cams run like $700ish. You could do a nice NA build
