I'd just buy a AP2 ecu. They run more lean than the AP1(especially if 00-01) which will make more power. The 00-01 run excessively rich. My AFR goes into the 10's past vtec in my 00. Also, you won't worry about over-reving. I've seen a few people on here ruin their AP2 engine cause they swapped a AP1 ecu into their cars for the 9k redline.

As stated above, you will need to get the immobilizer reprogrammed. Most Honda dealerships will do this for the cost of the labor. Just drive it there with the AP1 ecu, then switch it out and let them do their magic with the immobilizer.

If all you're doing is swapping the engine and not the trans, it should be a bolt in affair. No need to change the ecu or worry about the key and all that crap. If I were you, I would not rev the 2.2 to 9K very often, though.

if your swapping directly, i had to change the fuel line from the firewall to the motor. The line from my ap1 didnt fit, so we put the ap2 fuel line onto the ap1 firewall! The wiring harnesses should fit fine, etc..

In regards to the output flange bolt size, you are correct, the ap2's are larger, but thats only if you swap out the ap1 tranny with an ap2 tranny

Sounds like you should just get another AP1 engine.

I have an ap2 motor in my 00 running an 00 ecu. After a little over 2 years everything is still fine. I havn't burnt any oil or noticed any problems other than starts in cold weather I have to give it a little gas or the car will turn off immediately after starting. I assume that is caused by the 00 ecu.

Well my block on my AP1 is completely messed up, so what should I do? Get a AP2 Block or just get another AP1 block and get a 02-03 ecu?

just swap an f22 longblock, and get a vafc to tune it. i drive mine as is it were in f20, i take it to 9k almost everyday. it can handle 9k without a problem, just don't stay in the 8500-9k range for long. if you have an 00-01" ecu stick with that. the vafc is important, otherwise you will throw a CEL.
