F22 swap in ap1

I have an f22 out of a MY04 to put in a MY01 that dropped a valve. I am planning on running the MY01 ecu. Someone has told me that the ap1 ecu will run too lean for the f22. Is this possibly true?

no 00-01 ecus run richer than the 02-03 so the 01 would be richer which is more safe to use.

you will need at least a VAFC to tune it, otherwise you will get a CEL.

This is very interesting. I would love to get a UK ap2 dash and rock this, are there a lot of adverse affects from doing something like this.

I know the 00-01 ap1 ecu's run more rich than anything else, but that makes two people that have told me that I need to either run ap2 ecu or vafc.

get a vafc and call it a day. Ill be running a 07 f22 with a 02 ecu. the 02-03 are the leaner ecus and you need to add fuel with the vafc. the 00-01 ecus definitely run richer from the factory.
