Default Factory Service Manual difference

Hey Guys,

Does anyone know how different the Factory service manuals are between years? I've got a 2000-2003 FSM, but my car is an 04. Will torque specs and etc generally be the same? Thanks for the help!

in general they will be the same, and I wouldn't lose sleep over using ap1 torque specs, but you should really get an updated version since there have been changes and updates to procedures/torque values that you will want to have in the long run.

yeah i mean, for the chassis components, suspension, brakes, stuff like that it should be fine. I'd be the most weary about the engine since Honda went from a 2.0 to a 2.2 and changed a few things on it.

Notably flaws in torque specs in early manuals are light recommendations on plugs and wheel bearings.

Yep. 2003 is AP1 and 2004 is AP2. I have the 2007 manual and note several times there will be different spelled out between generations. Honda made changes, some radical every two years starting the 2d year.

I tend to think of the cars like this:

1999 AP1V1
2000-2001 AP1V2
2002-2003 AP1V3
2004-2005 AP2V1
2006-2007 AP2V2
2008+ AP2V3

Some torque settings changed long after the cars went out of production.
