Default Failed smog (misfires detected)

First off, I apologize if this is the wrong section as this is not for my s2000.

My girlfriend's 2000 accord v6 has always ran rough- CEL, bad mpg (~16-17 city), and extremely rough shifting up and down gears, even reverse (car is automatic). Unfortunately, as we do not drive the car often, we did not get this checked out and procrastinated until it's time to smog for registration.

Emission control systems functional check results:
FAIL OBDII
FAIL OBD bulb check

Fault codes:
p0300 - random/multiple cylinder misfire detected
p0301 - cylinder 1 misfire detected
p0302 - cylinder 2 misfire detected
p0303 - cylinder 3 misfire detected
p0304 - cylinder 4 misfire detected
p0305 - cylinder 5 misfire detected
p0306 - cylinder 6 misfire detected
p0780 - shift error

The technician suggests it's bad spark plugs or coil, but what are the chances that all 6 cyls have faulty plugs/coils? Could it actually be maybe 1-2 cyls but the computer would put out codes for all 6? What else (bad valve adjustments?) could be the problem?

Please let me know your opinions. Thanks guys!
