Fan switch leak
So I installed a new radiator this weekend.
I notice a small leak coming from the Fan switch. I did re-use the old fan switch and didn't take note of the O - Ring on the switch.
I thought it was my fault because I didn't tighten the switch enough but it's pretty tight and I don't want to over tighten.
I will replace my O- ring, does anyone know if I need to use sealant or not?

I used a light amount of permatex ultra grey sealant (Hondabond) sealant on my spoon rad which I just did this weekend, works fine and I've re-used my switch three times with the same o-ring. But my threads were completely dry on a new install, if you can't get the threads totally dry teflon tape is a good idea too like suggested above. Make sure you still have the o-ring in place when you pull the switch this time, check to see that it isn't deformed or missing.
Thanks for the replies guys.
I'm thinking I will replace the switch tonight with a new one for peace of mind and add the bond suggested.
I didn't think about the threads of the switch being sealed when I got to this part.
Thanks again.

So I was about to go crazy this morning when I saw Coolant under my car and realized it was coming from the new switch.
I was about to go "HULK SMASH" well I wrapped it with Teflon and tightened it.
No leaks when I got to work, I would usually see a pool under the switch area on the splash guard.
:-) so freaking happy now!!
