Shifter is fine and it is in correct, it'll only go one way. Problem has to be in the trans, I took the shifter out and inspected everything, cap isn't cracked nothing is cracked.

Piece of shit trans is coming out tm, mine will be going back in whenever sometime this week. Guess I'm going to chalk it up as a loss $350 for the trans, $180 for my friend to pull and put this one in..

Worst part is, I was about to move for a job (quit mine and everything) and now I'm getting f@#ked with this shit.. So lol. Stuck staying where I'm at.

This is why ANY transmission I would even consider buying I make sure it rows through all gears appropriately before any cash changes hands. I feel bad for you though. It really is unfortunate. You say the shifter can't go in backwards, but it can.....that plate the bolts it down can rotate 360 degrees around the base of the shifter. I'm really trying to be optimistic for you in hoping that's all it is.

(under the center console cover) came loose n slanted. so when i tried to go into 5th, it would'nt let me n 6 would grind very bad.

Thanks for the reply, I ended up just pulling it and ordering stuff to rebuild my stock one. I was trying to save time and money. I did try what you said though before it was pulled and unfortunately it did not work.

The trans was supposed to be good, and it did not have a shifter on it. Dude's from Cleveland Tn and if you know anything about that town, it was a mistake for me to trust someone from there..

Dang, I wish I would've known. It's probably the same dude that sold my buddy TWO bad S2000 trannies (for cheap so my buddy kept them for parts). They were in high HP cars and were completely trashed. (Broken shafts, etc) Sounds like you got another one of those trannies.

I'm from Christiana, TN btw.....just outside of M'Boro.

Ahh I'm not too sure where that is, but I'll have to stop by next time I go to nashville.

But yeah you live and learn. I learned a while ago not to trust people from Cleveland, and I figured it'd be different this time. Nope lol.

Sorry to hear of your bad experience with trying to get a good used transmission. This kind of thing is exactly why I decided to rebuild my own transmission when mine started acting up. Good luck with your rebuild. Check out my DIY on the subject: https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/830...-transmission/
I hope it helps you.

Thanks for the info man! I appreciate it. My dads rebuilt transmissions for a long time so if I get stumped I've got him lol.

I lol'd at all ap1 trannys grind second
Even new ones...... yeah right

He knew it was damaged and hosed you sorry. $350 for a trans should have been a red flag right out the gate.

Rebuild your old trans. Put the old 5/6 set into your newly purchased one. Sell it and recoupe some cash?
