I am very close to the recommended mileage for first oil change(3,750 miles).

HOwever, I am going to keep the original oil until 5,000 miles, just to make sure rings seat properly. In the mean time, I will be adding Castrol GTX in case of losing oil.

I read somewhere F20C will get stronger up to 5,000 miles or so...

But that's just me

My plan is to change it at 5,000 miles. I'm at 1,750 and have added 1/2 quart to keep the oil level at full.

Check your manual first. I believe it states to change it after one year or 7500 miles - whichever comes first.

You're right it does for "normal" as opposed to "extreme" conditions. I would love to change it a 7500 mi. You not only save time, but you save money.

But we've all been brainwashed to change it at 3,000. Do most people here actually change it at 7500 mi? I think the longest I could ever let it go is 5000.
