Angry First oil change before 1000miles !?!

Hi guys,
I bought my car recently with just under 1000 miles. Recently i noticed an oil leak so i brought it in for some warranty work and they told me it was because of the after market oil filter and that the car's oil was changed. I'm wondering if this is going to have any adverse effects seeing as the break in oil is recommended to be changed at 3k miles.

There is NO "break in" oil. There's nothing special about the factory oil fill.

Put on the correct filter in the correct way. Nothing wrong with your oil. It's recently changed. Check level after. Top up.

lol, the kind that have oil leaks. OP- get the factory Oil Filter and install it per manual instructions and top off the oil, then change at 3000.. GTG.

Actually, I'm the third owner and i bought it with 950 miles. 1st owner had it for 70 miles and 2nd had it for the rest. i think they didn't like the harsh ride b/c they didn't know spring spacers were still in the car... either way helluva steal for me.

Wild, what a unique situation. Well...congrats then!

Don't worry about the oil, just do it properly ASAP, and you're good to go. You DO have a warranty anyway, remember.

Replace the filter, look for the rest of the spring bumpers. Run the oil out in 3k. Don't worry about a thing.
