Default First Valve Adjustment

Did my first valve adjustment today and I think it went well. The idle still sounds a bit loud to me but I don't have much for comparison. Please give it a listen, I appreciate your help!

The car is a 2005 with just over 58,000 miles on it. Intake side was set to .21mm and exhaust to .25mm

You probably had to increase the gap due to valve seat wear which would make it louder. Its not a concern. If for some reason thd gap was too big it would make less noise after bringing the gap to spec.

Were the valve clearances tighter when you started? Just curious. Those clearances are on the low side of the spec. In-spec is in-spec. The DBW cars (this isn't one) run leaner and the exhaust is recommended to be at the high end or just over. 0.012" or 0.30mm. (spec is 0.011"). Mechanical valve actuation is "clicky."

The clearances were generally a hair tighter when I started. I set exhaust to .25mm as the feeler gauges I was working with jumped to .30mm with no middle gauge to use so I figured it was better to be on the tighter end of the spec than not in the spec at all.
