Flashing CEL | Multiple Misfire Codes
Hello,
I'd like to see if anybody any advice for my situation. The night before the flashing CEL, the car drove beautifully. No noises, engine sounded smooth, full of fresh oil. The next morning, I start my car and it sounds like its misfiring. It then shows the flashing CEL. I got my code reader and these are the codes I have.
P0301 Cylinder 1 Misfire
P0303 Cylinder 3 Misfire
P0304 Cylinder 4 Misfire
P1456
P0300
P1399
I just replaced all four spark plugs and that did not help. Should I just get the car towed to a shop? What is the best way to do that, I think I may have towing coverage on my insurance. Should I request a specific way of getting the car towed. Should I take it to a dealership or a regular shop.
Any ideas I should try before getting it towed.
Thanks.

Miles one the vehicle? had this same exact problem. All cylinders were misfiring except cylinder 3 but it turns out cylinder 3 wasn't firing at all causing the rest to misfire. Turned out to be a bad ignition coil.

The overnight misfire is strange. Any mechanical over-rev occur on your last drive? I had a similar issue a while back with a flashing CEL and misfire codes. After replacing my plugs and coils, I adjusted the valve lash and she ran like a new machine with no misfire or cel. If you are comfortable with popping the valve cover off and checking the lash, I would highly recommend it. Especially worth while if you have a higher mileage engine and have not had it adjusted before. There's a solid write up on Rob Robinette's site on valve lash adjustment.

I just recently hit 100k.
Considering George's problem is very similar to mine in which 3 of the cylinders are misfiring, when I get a chance, I'm going to cycle the ignition coil and see if the non misfiring cylinder follows. Hopefully all I need is new coils. Fingers crossed.

P1456 is suggesting you just fueled up.
Bad gas is a possibility. Had this happen to a customer last week. All it takes is a tiny bit of moisture.

I don't think its the gas because I have less than a tank and it only happened over night.
I reset the codes and let the car run for about 15 seconds and now it only shows cylinder 3 misfire code with a flashing CEL.
