Flickering of instrument panel
i'm new to S2K and got 2007 with 30,000 miles.
today while standing at trafic lights i noticed that fuel&temp gauges flickering at idle.
i turned off head lights - flickering reduced.
i turned off AirCon - flickering reduced more - almost diminished.
AirCon back on and reving to 3,000-4,000 flickering alsot dissappear.
si it really looks like this flickering depends on electric system load and revs.
is this normal?
the car still has 2 months warranty....

I had very light flickering during idle a while back. Replaced my battery and all is well, so it's not always a sign of alternator problems. Battery had >4 years on it, the most I've ever gotten from an OEM battery, so can't complain. If you're under warranty, take it in to Honda and have them check it out.
i just got workshop manual that i purchased few days ago - it describes very specific tests that can be done to "charging system" to check all its components.
i will go to a dealer and make sure that they doo all those tests.

I have flickering on my MY00 as well. But my car is still on the original battery so hopefully replacing it will fix the problem. However, many S2K owners have reported flickering issues with their dash so it might just be the design of the car. Just do and search and you will find few threads where this has been reported.

If your dash lights flicker it is your alternator. The battery only starts the car. Start your car and disconnect the battery. The car still functions normally.
I fought this problem a while back. After taking my alternator apart a few times and changing the rectifier (~$150 from Majestic Honda) the problem was gone. Whether this will take care of your problem or not I am not sure, but it might be worth a try. Btw, it's quite simple to work on this alternator.
