Default Fluttering sound.

Hey guys. I'm new here, how's it going?

Anyway, recently I have been hearing a fluttering sound, kind of like a card in a fan or bicycle wheel. It's not as loud as the engine, but it speeds up as the RPMs rise. Also, it's not there when the engine idles. You only hear it when revving the engine or driving. The noise is barely audible when the engine is cold, but gets louder as the car warms up.

I originally thought maybe it was my timing chain tensioner, but I got that replaced and the noise remained the same (although it did need replacing, it was in pieces.)
I also had valve lash checked, and it's not in need of adjustment. The oil was just changed, and I only use premium gas.

There doesn't really seem to be any decline in performance, it's just a really annoying noise.

Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be?

Seems like a classic chain tensioner sound. Did you replace the old one with a brand new one? Can you narrow down where the sound is coming from?

Yes I replaced it with a brand new OEM timing chain tensioner. I'm not completely sure where the sound is coming from. I only hear the sound when I'm sitting in the car, and I can't tell if the engine sounds bad from the outside, because I've only had the car for a couple months and the car's always been noisy.

I have the same sound between 3-4k rpm. I thought it was an exhaust leak, so I replaced header to cat, cat to exhaust gaskets and still have the problem. Also got a valve adjustment, still there. Not sure what it is. Let me know if you find a solution.

Also, it seems like the engine or the center of the dashboard above the radio vibrates and makes some buzzing scraping noise around 5k RPM. Don't know if it's related.

Is there any possibility that the TCT was not installed correctly, so what I'm hearing is the result of that never actually getting fixed?
