Default found this in my differential fluid

Do I need a differential?

I've recently been noticing my car pulls to the right on throttle. I swap the back wheels and it pulls to the left. So I've been trying to play with pressures, but just said screw it and ordered new tires.

Now today I changed my diff fluid and found this piece of metal.

What do u guys think?

I was going to say probably, but Ben's last post has me wondering now

This will affect the locking of the LSD as well as cause friction (heat) of the free spinning washer(s) inside the LSD.

Unfortunately Honda does not sell replacement parts for the LSD, the LSD is sold as a unit. I do have many good LSD washers in stock i remove from damaged units that I use to fix this issue when I come across it.

If you only find one ear and the car is just used for pleasure driving (Daily use) you should be fine. If you find 2 or more you will want to replace the washers or replace the LSD it's self. If you find one or more ears and the car is used on the track you will want to repair or replace the LSD ASAP.

If the car still feels unsettled with the new tires installed, I would not be tracking the car until you fix what ever issue you have. You could have another problem with the car or the LSD is not working as it should anymore.

Oh yeah right...the topic.

I have found those half-moon pieces before with no ill effects to the dif.

As far as your pull, it is 100% without question the tires causing it.

Pressure, brand, size, age, and wear must be an exact match on the rear or the car will pull on acceleration, and shift in the oppositite direction on decel.

My customer that had that ear on his drain plug is going to the draogn with me next week. I'm going to thrash his car left and right turns and see if the dif is acting up at all. As of now it shows no issues.
