Found out my AP1 isn't making power when Dynotuning
Hey everyone ... So I decided to take my AP1 to get it tuned after doing some bolt ons and getting a Haltech EMS. When the tuner baselined the car on the stock ECU he showed me only 180whp. Typically he said the stock cars bring in around 190whp. He then plugged in my Haltech and loaded the maps and did a few pulls on the dyno. Thats when he said he can't even tune the car because it is losing power at the top end around 8000rpm mark. It basically is bogging out and seems like something is restricting the car. He tried to lower the vtec and it won't accept that either - boggs out again.
I recently did a valve adjustment , compression test and everything is fine...
Any thoughts on where I can start looking for a solution before I go back for a retune ?
Thanks !

I hope you are right but to be honest two of my friends have the same car and similar mods and their cars feel stronger. It really does feel like something is restricting it. I'm going to check the injectors also after I make a few pulls at full throttle.

Based on the abnormal spike at 6300rpm and what Evans tuning said, i think there is a problem that needs further exploration. Unfortunately when you ditch the stock for a full EMS you lose your CEL function, which can be crucial to effectively troubleshooting issues with the engine. You might consider putting that back in and see if one gets triggers now or down the road.
Just throwing this out there, but vtec dropping in/out could cause a dyno graph that looks like this. The peak power being lower then expected is hard to gauge if an issue or not.
A clogged cat or exhaust obstruction in the cat back would be the other possibility that could cause this.
I would assume its not a fuel or timing issue since Evans went through those parameters when tuning the car.
Other then a engine mechanical issue, I dont know what else would cause this. How confident your valves are adjusted correctly and didn't over tighten/cook a valve recently?
