Default found a stowaway on my Oil drain plug

I have a Skunk 2 magnetic oil drain plug and look what it found on my most recent oil change. I am hoping the S2K genius's out there can help me identify this part. I'll be going to the dealer tomorrow to see what they say.

Oil jet squirter? this is a good reason to have a magnetic oil plug also, as I would hate to see this part get mashed up inside your engine

Yeah no kidding. I installed the Skunk2 magnetic drain plug during my last change too. I would have never found this part w/o it.

more pix? Is that a hex head? + if it is, is the hole on the side and the hole @ the other end connected (oil can get through it?)

Its not the oil jet squirter OR the banjo bolt. Maybe something to do with the cyl head?

That's from the timing chain tensioner.
Not good!

Its the little piece right next to the light blue piston, a small pressure valve with the little spring and a ball.

I would stop driving!

Is it an original TCT?

Spitfire spotted it 100%. I would just remove the TCT and screw it back in.

Punch the thread or housing next to the jet so it can't screw itself out again.

How many miles were on your car when this happened?

That's the easy way out

Those punches (2!) will not un-punch themselves - close to impossible.
IF the TCT in question (still) had 2 punches.

Big IF.
(still) = that's why I asked if it was an original OEM TCT

Does that mean there is probably still a spring and ball floating around in the engine?
