Default Free play on clutch pedal

Ok well I don't know if this is the place to post it, but here I go.

Got into my car today and started it up. I noticed that the freeplay on the clutch pedal was more the usual. No biggie, RIGHT ??

But as I started driving it I noticed the friction zone has changed also. It seems that right when you lift off the clutch you have to give it gas.

The clutch pedal is still almost to the ground when I have to start giving it gas !!!

Any Ideas??? Im starting to hate my car cause it also has a stupid squeaking sound coming from my exhaust !!

this happened to me just a couple weeks ago, its pretty creepy thinking about all the things that could be wrong since money is always involved. for me, it was the clutch fluid. i checked it that day and it was under the minimum line so i assumed there were bubbles in the system. spent 6 bucks for some dot4 brake fluid and flushed/bled the system with the new stuff. worked out great go check your clutch resevoir

1. Have you done anything to the clutch, clutch system, tranny, etc.?
2. Check the clutch system - fluid, leaks, etc.

No clutch work

No leaks cause my pops would of had a fit if he had seen any fluid on the garage floor.

I checked my work stall also, and there was no fluid leaks either !

But I will check the fluid level when I get home and add if needed. Should I just add or flush the old stuff out ?

Thank you very lmuch for the answers

From the sounds of it, your clutch is not fully disengaging. Several things can cause this, but the fluid is the first thing you should target. I would suggest you flush and replace the fluid entirely as you may have air in the system. This can happen if the level in the reservoir got too low or if there is a leak. A leak may not necessarily be visible since it's such a small volume of fluid that would find its way out anyway. It's not like you're going to see pools of it laying around. Rather, you will be able to feel "wetness" around and under the master/slave cylinders or along the line between the two. The leak can also occur at the slave and find its way inside the rubber boot. You won't see it there.
Here's a "How To" on flushing the fluid:

The whole clutch slave cylinder on my truck blew out and there was no fluid at all on the ground, so make sure you pop the hood and check it still. Since you still have some clutch control, your cylinder should be fine though... just check the fluid level.

If you have no mods on the car and if it were something like a bad master or slave cylinder, then it's likely you will be taken care of. You won't know till you ask. I doubt that if you needed a clutch bleed, you will have to pay. This would also apply to the clutch parts as they are considered wear items.
