I just replaced my cabin air filter today, my car has 43k miles on it and honda recommends the filter be changed at 30k miles. As expected my filter was dirty as f*ck, with all sorts of stuff clogged in it. Just a friendly reminder to all you s2kers to replace this. I took some pics of the new filter along side my old one. Obviously the white one is the new clean filter. What you can't see in the picture is all the dirt/bugs/crap in-between the filter.

 

Thanks for the reminder. Out in the dessert in El Paso, mine is probably even dirtier than yours.

Where is the filter and how do you change it?

gosh, thanks for the reminder, mine must be extra philthy as in the warmer months, I smoke cigars !

 

It sucks air in from the outside not the other way around. Though I have replaced mine..........not as bad as LM's but bad enough.

Though I really don't see much of a reason for it because..............well it's a convertable car!!!! I guess you could argue that it impeeds air flow but come on..........it's a convertable car.

Thanks for bringing that up. This is my first car ever with a replacable filter for the cabin. I better not forget that there's one in there.

While you're all check the filter, might I suggest checking the air pressure in the spare tire? I pulled mine out a few weeks ago and found a whopping 20 pounds of pressure in it. A lot of good that would have done if I needed it. They are supposed to be set at 60 PSI. I honestly believe I was the first to ever pull that spare out since it was installed at the factory and I'm the third owner.

Any other obvious but often over looked items we as owners should check up on?
