Default front bumper duct removal

has anyone pulled the plates/panels out of the front bumper that look like they would open up nicely for brake cooling ducts or maybe a nice place to put and oil cooler? has anyone tried this?

Speaking of front bumper, is it ok to remove the styrofoam?

I'm thinking about mimicing the center look and dermal drill thin rectangular slits in the faux ducts, keep it looking like factory.
